In order to train engineers able to meet the needs and challenges of construction companies, ESITC Caen has maintained a close and lasting relationship with companies in the sector since its creation. The partnership with Eiffage Civil Engineering – Eiffage’s subsidiary for engineering, civil engineering, underground works, marine and river works, earthworks and railway works – began in 1993. The company specialized in the design, construction and maintenance of works regularly participates in the trades and orientation events organized by the school (Forum Construction, Tremplin, J'NOV day) and welcomes a large number of trainees or apprentices. The agreement signed on November 2nd for a period of 3 years by Xavier Mony, Managing Director of Eiffage Génie Civil, and Philippe Gruat, President of ESITC Caen, further strengthens this relationship.

The creation of the Chair will give concrete expression to this privileged link and provide a framework for joint educational and research initiatives.

Engineering students at ESITC Caen will be able to complete and deepen their skills related to civil engineering (artworks, underground works and marine works) by taking advantage of the expertise of Eiffage Génie Civil and priority access to internships and jobs offered by the company. For Eiffage Civil Engineering, this agreement is an opportunity to benefit from the recognized know-how of ESITC Caen in the field of innovative construction techniques and materials, to develop continuous training adapted to the needs of the company and its employees.

Combining skills in collaborative research projects.

In addition, Eiffage Civil Engineering teams will be able to benefit from the expertise developed within ESITC Caen. The relationship between the two entities extends to the field of research, with Eiffage Génie Civil to integrate two major collaborative R&D projects led by ESITC Caen, bringing its skills and professional expertise.

Promoting diversity.

ESITC Caen and the Eiffage Group share humanistic values and a common vision. Convinced that gender diversity is a key factor in performance, they are committed to developing communication actions in middle and high schools in order to promote science courses. More generally, ESITC Caen and Eiffage Génie Civil take advantage of this agreement to reaffirm their commitment to promoting gender equality by offering the same opportunities for advancement and the same level of remuneration to young graduates.
