Three new service quays completed in Grand-Lahou, Côte d’Ivoire
Our Eiffage Génie Civil Marine teams have finalized the construction of three new service quays, each measuring 20m x 12m.
This project is a key part of a coastal protection initiative led by our client, DEME Group, aimed at stabilizing the sandbar between the Tagba Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean. This initiative will provide long-term protection for the Grand-Lahou coastline against erosion, flooding, and rising sea levels.
In this complex environment, at the junction of land and the lagoon area, our expertise was fully leveraged to deliver major technical achievements:
- 330 tons of sheet piles were installed to ensure the stability and durability of the structures.
- 700 m² of concrete was poured and 45,000 paving stones were laid to create robust surfaces.
- 800 m³ of rock armor was installed for reliable side protection.
- All mooring and fender systems for the quays were put in place.
This major challenge demanded flawless coordination and an exemplary command of our expertise in foundations, concrete works, and port infrastructure.
Congratulations to all the teams involved for their commitment and the high quality of their work!
A special thanks to our client, DEME Group, for their continued trust.
